CON TENTS faculty AcnvmES features classes ADS FOREWORD As a fleeting moment gropes for the incomprehensible eternity and passes away, the old Saint Vincent gropes for an unobtainable existence. It is an old, tired building, yet it clings to the idea of serving human¬ ity again and again as it has done in the past. This is the last year that it will be able to feel busy feet mounting the creaky stairs, or hear the laughter in the halls, or the celestial sound of the choir in the chapel. Yes, the old building, built brick by brick by human hearts and souls, will not be here for long; it must be destroyed in order that the inevitable progress may move into its place. But its spirit will never be razed as long as there are more human hearts striving to keep it forever encased in the soul. It happens that the 1962 Vin¬ centian staff was chosen by provi¬ dence to edit and publish the last book of precious memories to come out of this school on St. Vincent’s Avenue. And as the new now moves in to replace the old, we are proud to offer you this priceless possession, your 1962 Vincentian . 7
