Text from Pages 1 - 104 of the 1961 volume:

Foreword “In the Shadow of a Valiant Woman” . . . The yearbook staff has chosen this as the theme for the 1961 Vincentian. We are proud of our school in scholarship, in activity and in the production of fine Christian women. This pride is developed daily from the work begun by Mother DeVilleneuve, foundress of the Daughters of the Cross. Today our teachers, the living shadows of Mother DeVilleneuve, help us toward a better education, and richer spiritual life. Each member of the staff has shared in the development of this theme. We hope you will sense this theme as you turn these pages to re-live the challenges, accomplishments, and friend- ships at St. Vincent’s Academy. We, the Vincentian Staff, give you the 1961 Vincentian.
