Diocese of Columlms The early years of Father lVlattingly's preparation for the priesthood were spent at the parish high school of the Blessed Sacrament Church, Newark, O. In 1919, he began his course of studies at St. Vincent's where he has since distinguished himself by his brilliant talents. Matt, a profound student of literature, has demon- strated his ability during his five years of service in the editorial department of the Symposium. He was editor- in-chief of Volume X, the book that last year achieved phenomenal success. 119411
