I GRATEFUL TRIBUTE We dedicate this section to St. Joseph, Patron of the Universal Church, under whose fatherly patronage and protection St. Vincent's Hospital has given its one hundred Years of service to the sick and the needy. We invoke his blessing on all our benefactors, especially those herein inscribed, without whose material aid and co-operation this cente- nary issue of The Vincentine could not have been produced. .,ll DR. ' Q X, 2 'X County Health Nursing Pediatric Nursing t. Vlnoent S Alumnae Association On this page are represented a few of the many different types of nursing in which St. Vincent's Alumnae are engaged at the present time. Some members have selected the oldest field of nursing, Private Duty. Others have chosen Institu- tional Nursing as Head Nurses, Staff Nurses, or Supervisors. Some are Instructors in Nursing Schools. Others have selected positions in Public Health, as City, County, or District Nurses, Tuberculosis, Office, or Industrial Nurses. Some are Air Hostesses and Commissioned Officers in the Armed Services of our country. The field of Mental Hygiene has claimed some, while volunteer work with the Red Cross has interested others, A large percentage of the Alumnae have chosen the field of homemaking by becoming happy and successful wives and mothers-a field where a nurse finds ample opportunity for applying all her professional knowledge, skills, and womanly qualities. What varied fields of nursing and oppor- tunities are available to the young graduate professional nurse in this atomic age, compared with the situation a hundred years ago. Nursing
