Although Coach Bruce Brubach's preseason expectations were low, the team rapidly improved until the final match against North found them un- defeated and vying for the City Series Championship for the third consecutive year. Alter early victories over East T35-lOl and Copley i25-221. the St. Vincent grapplers faced their new archrivals from Walsh Jesuit. The Irish continued their domination of the Warriors in major sports with a 26-ll victory. This match was followed by a 26-I2 win over Firestone. Over the Christmas holidays the wrestlers tool: part in two tournaments. Traveling first to North Canton's Hoover High School, the Irish won first place in the twelve-team contest.
