. . . future careers '40 x -- Nr Je? Watch those calories! At last it's here. Above, the new stove for the Home Economics class is welcom- ed with considerable cere- mony. Sister Dominica is given the honor of making the first trial run, while teacher, Mrs. Martha Dunn, directs from the instruction book. Geraldine Marzano, Pat McAleese, and Mary Jane Hudak agree that the new appliance looks right at home in the modern kit- chen. The lab is also the setting for the Holiday Tea. The officers of the Home Ec Club-Noel Sturmi, Joan Gmerek, and Julia Censky -- prepare cookies and punch for the occasion. The Christmas party is one of the club's yearly pro- jects and a favorite with all. 21

James Palmeri examines the bones of the hand, while the not-so- brave Mary Ellen Garry and Mariann Kuebler pre- fer to look on. Oz Moses - that's the skeleton's name-has proved to be a valuable aid in learning the names and locations of the bones. Mary Ellen and Marian have a guide sheet which explains the Work- ings of Oz, Before long he'll be an old friend and they'll know him well. Nature Boy has captured the spotlight. Marianne Starner, Blanche Richards, Mary Schmidt and Eugenia Bachmann explore for a better understanding of the human body. Among the activities of the health class is a trip to Cleveland Health Museum to visit Juno, the Transparent Talking Woman. Juno is a life-sized plastic model of a human figure, complete with organs, bones, and other structures. She is Wired for sound so that she can tell her audience about the wonders of the body. As she talks, various parts of her body light up and are seen through transparent layers.
