utumn AUTUMN lN NAPA COUNTY is a season of activity as well as one of great beauty. Everyone is hastening to reap the fruits of the vineyards and orchards. All are occupied in a last burst of energy, speeding up summer's more leisurely pace. Bordering much of this scene, a fieldstone wall watches another harvest. Built over a hundred years ago, much of it remains today as a monument to the industry and sense of beauty of the pioneers who settled Napa Valley. lt travels along miles of scenic Napa and finally ends near neighboring Solano County, the home of Saint's. Autumn at Saint's also is a period of great activity, quite a change from summer's slower mood. lt is a season in which each student reaps the fruits of his labor, while en- joying the excitement of his new state in life. This season also includes the creation of new things: football teams, rallies, games, new classes, new friendships - all are a part of autumn. lust as the old stone wall looks upon a new harvest each autumn, so does the Spirit of Saint's, created by its first members, look upon this new school year as a harvest of l-lilltoppers gathered in unity to carry on in themselves that same Spirit of St. Vincent's, begun so long ago.
