William H. B. Rees, Registrar of the Detroit Institute of Muslcal Art. Marius E. Fossenkemper, Ensembles instructor, accompanies Dr. Henry C. Kolbe, Musical Languages instructor, on the clarinet. Both are well known in the Detroit area for recreating classical masterpieces. -- -we :.-- 7 - -, 11 1.1-2. 5K,1'!.-l!.!,L,--.: Through its association with the University of Detroit Arts and Sciences college, the Detroit Institute of Musi- cal Arts offers a diversified program to students aspiring to professional careers in the field of music. Bachelor of Music degrees are conferred upon students who have mastered a four year course emphasizing music theory. Practical ap- plication of various musical instruments is stressed. There is also an extensive program for Education maiors wishing to teach music in the public school system. Students profitably use every available moment at D.I.M.A. Here Joe Gamache, Bachelor of Music Senior, practices on the trombone. A The pleasant atmosphere of the rooms at the D.l.M.A. lends a mood conducive to the beauty of music.
