First established in 1907 with Judaism, Professional- ism and Fraternalism as its basis, the Alpha Nu Chapter came to the University of Detroit in 1934. Its purpose is to uphold the highest standards of the dental profes- sion and to promote the principles of friendship and brotherhood. Pledge smokers and dental clinics are among the chapter's annual activities. Each year a Junior Scholarship Award is presented to the dental student outstanding in academic achievement. It stimulates scholastic activity by conferring a scholarship award to the highest academic student and a service award to a school booster. Each year the chapter sponsors the Colonial Prom and participates actively in Homecoming and the Spring Carnival. 191

The activities of the fraternity consist chiefly of promoting good fellowship among the men at the University and of offering its services for the good of humanity. ln order to become members, the men must have been Scouts. They must have a high scholastic average and a desire to help others.
