IRISH DO FIGHT Basketball, with all Its acceleration and color, opened at the University of Detroit with a record-tylng 98-58 triumph for the Titans over Kalamazoo. Bowling Green handed the Titans their first defeat, 78-53, before the University of Detroit returned to the winning side of the ledger with a 77-58 conquest of BuFfalo. University of Detroit found the Fighting lrish of Notre Dame as tough to beat on the hardwoods as they were on the gridiron and bowed to the South Bend aggregation, 72-45 on Notre Dame's court. Dick Rosenthal, lrish center, took scoring awards with 27 points. ll9
