lecbca fion We the Class of S7 dedicate this book to the memory of our be- loved pastor, Father O'Connell. who was called from this World last year. We recall his generosity, his willingness, to promote activities for our school, and his fatherly advice and counsel. Because of illness during his last few years on this earth, he was unable to be active in the affairs of the school, but he usually managed to get to our parties and basket- ball games. On occasions he would grant us free days to break the monotony of the school year. When we asked for favors or privileges, he always tried to grant them. It was a sad day indeed when Father Was taken from us. It is our fervent prayer that God in His Infinite Mercy has granted Father O'Connell the Beatific Vision. We regret that he is not with us on our day of graduation to give us his last words of advice before We embark into the world.

PENNSYLVANIA To the Class of 1957: Twelve years ago, when you began your formal Catholic education, you were taught that the purpose of life is to know, love, and serve God. Through the years of your education, and in particular during the past four years, this truth was expanded and explained. Now you have reached spiritual maturity in your knowledge of how to attain this end. There is no conceivable situation in which you can- not know God's will. Thus you are equipped by education and grace to withstand any spiritual dangers and remain firm in the conviction that the most import- ant thing in life is to do God's will. We hope and pray that you will hold fast to the principles that have been taught to you and that by them you will find happiness, success and in God's time, salvation. God bless you, Father Nee
