Each class volunteered to complete a project assigned by Red Cross headquarters. Projects included party favors, funny hats, and nut cups for the Ft. Thomas Veterans hospital. Generosity in helping the unfortunate develops a sense of responsibility toward our local com- munity and its problems. Taking part in community affairs prepares future leaders In The American Way of Life Red Cross class chairmen show how it's done! Barbara Midden- dorf, junior, is wearing her classls New Year's eve hat, while Martha McCarthy, senior, holds the beginning of a wigwam, of which her cass made 100 for Thanksgiving. Ruth Bissmeyer, sophomore, wears a Hallowe'en hat. Freshman jackie Williams begins cutting out tray favors. In I Speak for American De- mocracy' contest, Patricia Man- ley clearly stated that our Amer- ican government is based upon Christian principles. 28
