l SE CLASSES The formal situation in which we learn is much like this fine ex- ample of Philadelphia architecture. The circumstance is all dignity, the immediate situation, though com- plex and exciting, is merged into the whole formality of the event. Our experiences, the specific things that made our life at S.T.M. excit- ing, are the classroom life we lead. We see these pictures as being a good look at us while, we are being modified and changed by fact. All of those things that become actions in our later behavior use these hours of exposure as their back- ground.

Freshman section CD-53 watches as Father Dillon, C.M., unravels the mystery of a long division prob- lem, Algebra style. Frequent exposure and much study will change these to faces of understanding by Spring. Religion isfa very complex and eventful topic, interesting and ex- citing, with a good teacher. Father McCaffery helps C-1 see- the ex- citem-ent and drama of the church. The classroom is extended into the night, Mr. Hoy, interviews a stu- dent and his father on Pa.rents' Nightf' We may be watching the beginning of a good student. The rigors of Freshman Algebra be- come more intense and lonesome when We are Hat the Board. Father Green watches carefully as D-3 pon- ders and squeaks with chalk-hands through a lesson.
