DEDICATION Try as we will, we find it almost impossible to measure the good we have derived from our association with Mr. Joseph O'Brien. Our first year at St. Thomas was made easier than we had anticipated because of the pleasant, kindly approach of our Freshman English instructor. Prof. O'Brien cer- tainly never confined his good example, his gentle words of encouragement, or his sincere praise to the classroom; but his enthusiasm has permeated our lives socially, intellectually, and spiritually. But most of all, the Seniors of the past seven years will remember him in a special way for giving them a pictorial remembrance of their years at St. Thomas Military Academy through his untiring efforts and original approaches in presenting the year- books to the Cadets. When we have left forever our beloved St. Thomas campus and our departing footsteps have joined those of classes long past, one thing, and one thing only, will preserve our individu- ality, will remind us that we were not just members of a long procession of Seniors, but that we were proud, successful mem- bers of the Class of 1955. This is our yearbook. It is with this thought that we present to the school, and to the world, the 1955 edition of the KAYDET. We do this partly with a feeling of accomplishment, but mostly with a vague gnawing at our hearts —a profound regret at leaving the scene of the four happiest years of our lives.
