♦ RETROSPECT SAINT THOMAS DISTRICT HIGH SCHOOL Braddock, Pennsylvania 1973 HEADMASTER’S FOREWORD Every person whose picture is contained herein and every person who is fortunate enough to browse through this memorial book must heed the immortal words of Robert Frost. For every one of us must not only choose the right road to travel but, more importantly, we must choose the different and less traveled road, the road from Nazareth to Calvary. This road, and only this road, will make the difference. This was the lesson to be learned in St. Thomas District Catholic High School. Two roads diverged in a yellow wood. And sorry I could not travel both And be one traveler, long I stood And looked down one as far as I could To where it bent in the undergrowth; Then took the other, as just as fair. And having perhaps the better claim. Because it was grassy and wanted wear; Though as for that the posing there Hud worn them really about the same. And both that morning equally lay In leaves no step had trodden black. Oh, 1 kept the first for another day! Yet knowing how way leads on to way. I doubted if I should ever come back. I shall be telling this with a sigh Somewhere ages and ages hence: Two roads diverged in a wood, and I— I took the one less traveled by, And that has made all the difference. 3 6 ADMINISTRATION Reverend Robert Duch Headmaster Sister Antonia McGovern Vice-Principal 12 Mrs. Mary Char as Mrs. Helen Burdell Mrs. Virginia Oakes Father Dueh and Sister Antonia 14 Sister Kathleen Cannon 15 Sister Anastasia Chemistskv 16 Mr. Martin Kokus 17 Sister Margaret McHarg Sister Cynthia Rockey 18 Sister Serafina Viagrande Mr. Clarence Wargo Sister Roselyn Yestcr 20 SENIORS MARIE BOWER JOSEPH BUNGO JOSEPH BLASKO MICHAEL BUJAKOVVSKI BENJAMIN CERRONE 23 GREGORY CHELKIS THOMAS CHUHRAN NANCY CHURMA JOHN CMAR MARGARET CONNELLY LORRAINE CONNORS RICHARD COOK MICHAEL CORCORAN VVIIUAM COSTELLO MARIO DILUCENTE MARK DONAHUE JANET EAKIN 25 MARGUERITE ELTON DENNIS FUTRYK LINDA GRONDZIOWSKI ELIZABETH HARCARIK VIRGINIA HOLLERAN COLETTE HOLT 26 DANIEL HUDAK KATHLEEN HUDAK DANIEL JOSCAK 27 FRANCINE HRABLEY JOSEPH HUDAK DONNA ISLES DANIEL KANE JOHN KARAS JOHN KOBYLANSKI WILLIAM KROHMALY GREGORY LESKO LENORE MACE 28 KATHRYN MARCHITELLO PHILIP MARIANI THOMAS MASLEY CHRISTINA MATLAK ANDREW MATVYA ROSEMARY McCORMICK r MARIANNE MURRAY 30 MARY LEE MIEDLAR YVONNE MILO GENEVIEVE McDONOUGH USA NANNI FREDRICK MILLER GINA OBERDICK JACQUELINE OROS ROBERT OWENS DANIEL PAPULA MARY BETH PETRUSKA CECILIA PULIT VAUGHN ROMELL ANDREA SBORAY LYNDA RUFFING REBECCA SCARPINO 32 CONSTANCE SPIRK DIANE SPRUTE 33 JEFFREY SRDICH KENNETH STRETAVSKi RICHARD STUKUS DENNIS SWALCA JOLENE SWABSKY 34 CHARLES SZULC FRANK VINCUNAS 35 RUDOLPHSZEKELY JOANNE TIMM JOANNE SZVVARC DENISE VOSSBURC JUDITH WELSH 36 UNDERCLASS JUNIORS 38 HOMEROOM 306 First Rote: Nanette Rodgers, .Mary Kay Miller, Bernadette McNanmy. None of life’s strings can last AH things must pass away . . The students of the Class of 1973 are greatly indebted to the faculty and Administration for the love and knowledge they have shared with us. There were times We often felt feelings of hopelessness and despair, but with the help of many dedicated people and each other, these feelings were eradicated. They were replaced with roots of happiness and the growing incentive to carry on. As a result of their many hours of preparing us for the “real world”, we feel we have the proper guidelines with which to understand others among us and to take on the new challenges which will confront us in the future. Upon leaving there will be mixed sentiments. Some will be glad to leave, others will show indifference. But the majority of us will be uncertain of graduating from these walls of security into a seemingly strange and boundless outside world. But always realize that the love you will receive will be as much, if not more than, the love you will expend. In the end of an era, the Class of 1973 wishes everyone in the school and those who will come in later years good luck and God’s love be with you.
