Letter to the Headmaster Reverend Leo G. Henry Dear Father Henry, We write this letter not as a farewell, nor as a thank you, but as an acknowledgment. Through our two years of association, we have grown more and more to depend on your advice and guidance. Occasionally, we did not take heed of your words, but as graduation approaches, we have begun to realize the meaning of them and to appreciate their value. We appreciate even more the fact that you live what you preach. Your personal dedication to see that each one of us reaches his goal has inspired us to work harder to fulfill our potential. We believe that your sacrifice has not been in vain, and will eventually see its fruits harvested. Gratefully yours, Class of '64

Dedication In the year 1960, the same year that we entered Saint Thomas High School, the first Catholic, John F. Kennedy, was elected to the office of President. At 44, he was the youngest man ever to hold that office. Yet John Kennedy was young not only in years but, more importantly, in spirit and in action. His vigor, tenacity, and perseverence were characteristic of youth. As such he provided us with a standard of imitation. John Kennedy exemplified Christian ideals. Consequently, we regard him not so much a great President as a great man. Increasingly, we grew to appreciate his personal conduct. He meant more to us than just a president; he became a part of all of us, and each one of us has felt a personal loss with his untimely death. It is with the deepest admiration and respect, then, that we, the class of 1964, dedicate our yearbook to the memory of the late John Fitzgerald Kennedy, first Catholic President of the United States.
