OUR PASTOR A familiar sight to all of us every Monday morning is Father Shields standing in front of our class prepared to give his weekly religious instructions. No matter what the weather may be, we never fail to see this zealous priest smiling and ready to teach us the word of God. Although we are not all members of his parish, he has extended to each of us the same fatherly interest. He has been both a friend and advisor, admonishing and encouraging us through these years of Christian training. “Receive Holy Communion weekly” is the frequent advice he gives. He has instilled in our hearts a love for the truths and mysteries of our Holy Faith. While aspiring to reach the high level of Christian ideals set before us by our beloved priest, we shall always remember his untiring efforts in developing our spiritual and intellectual welfare. With these sentiments in mind, we the Senior Class, express our sincere gratitude and appreciation to our pastor, Father Shields.

DEDICATION With grateful hearts, we look back on our four happy years at Saint Thomas High School. We ask our Mother Mary to thank our Creative Father, our Saving Redeemer, and our Sanctifying Spirit for all the help given us in these fruitful years. As we stand on the threshold of life, we implore our Mother to be ever mindful of our needs and to pray to the Triune God for us, so that we may be able to conquer all the difficulties we shall encounter. With these sentiments, we, the Seniors of 1957, humbly dedicate this yearbook to the Most Holy Trinity through Mary. 5

OU R ASSISTANT PASTOR When we returned to school at the beginning of our sophomore year at St. Thomas’, we learned that we had a new assistant pastor, Father Drap. Since that day he has been both our leader and friend. His affable manner and unfailing good humor has won the confidence of all the students. We know that Father is always willing to give freely of his time and advice whenever we need it. Whether we are leading in victory or trailing in defeat, he is always there encouraging us. Because of his priestly guidance and friendly interest in our school and athletic activities, our basketball and baseball teams have steadily improved. We know that wherever we shall go, we shall never find a friend more cheerful, more patient, or more willing to help us than is Father Drap.
