Class ‘History Leaves of memories ! This was my thought as I sat reminiscing over the pages of my diary. Hdw will I ever forget that day in Septembe 1941, when the Class of '45 entftyecPSt. Tho'n S, Iboking forward to all the e otin rohjises of'higlj school. We, Were a tlasS of. anxious fre hmeh, eager to become acquainted witk oux fellov classmates mWSgtJier parishejs. We were very Successful in sporjs that yearVThe tg jest football'gamefof the season was the victory the ga over St. George's by a score of 24-0. Basketball also proved exciting and eagerly awaited. On December seventh of this eventful year, we were shocker} by a on Pearl Harbor. In the early spring, a skating party was h ld, apd.'later e Sojlth Path. This ended our first yearet St.Thomas'. N. W As turned the page, I saw our class as dignified sophomores initiatin'g dhe class. 'fhejschool held a Bond Drive that year, apd We were very proud when ouivcl out seccUd. The successjul7 Bond Drive was fpllowed by a Victory Dance. T hh brought our annual South Park picnic. The force of God's will was manifested this ; one of our classmates, Patsy Dawson, was taken from our midst by death, in high school ended in sadness. ,fY) us when „ isjevenf was almost as much fun as the dance itself, and the hall was highly praised by everyone who saw it. Our last event was a trip to Ceif aJlfCatlijoIicSchool to hear a concert by the'Pittsburgh y {y )V The next leaf of my diary brought back the memory of the FarriDFrolic we were juniors. Mid-year brought the long-awaited Prom! The d cbrating for Symphony Orchestra. m v Turning the final leaves, I remembered our Senior year. We looked forwjard to all the privileges we would be entitled to that year. The first event was a Halloween party, held by the Federation. Soon after that, we started work on our. Year Book, taking pictures, soliciting ads, patrons, and all the other work th Lgdfte, v fh'a succ s v ’Ai ual. After Christmas vacation we came back, ready for hard work' in preparation for micPyear exams. Again this year, we attended a concert given by the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra at Central Catholic. The rest of the year ran smoothly until May, when the usual excitement of the Prom was felt and heard throughout St. Thomas'. Of course, our annual picnic at South Park can pot be overlooked. In June, our dreams were realized. After pr efrr of fun . 3 pleasure, came Graduation Day, the outstanding event of olir! high- school-da'jrs 'Graduation Day meant an intermingling of happiness and sadness, because with graduation came the knowledge that many beautiful tjes of friendship would be broken.
