Although the scoreboard showed the Irish victo- rious in only five of fourteen league games, those who followed the Irish faithfully through pre-season scrimmages, regular games, and post-season con- tents saw more-much more. Determination, team- work, and enthusiasm accompanied the Cagers to court time after time. As the season progressed some of the early weakness were worked out, but hopes for an exciting state tournament were short- lived. The Irish were defeated by Dundee in the first round of the playoffs in early March. 58 , 9
