STAY FIT WITH GYM ABOVE: Mark Heilman and jesse Hevia prepare for a rigorous gym class. BELOW: The girlls gym class plays many sports during the year including field hockey. How clearly all of us upperclassmen remember those Freshman days when we were required to take Physical Education and Health. This year's Freshman have enjoyed that fifty-live minute period of pitting themselves against each other to keep both physically and mentally fit. They have played volleyball, basketball, field hockey, badminton, archery and other invigorating sports. Miss Muczyn- ski came new to the St. Thomas athletic department this year and the girls all enjoyed her. Mr. Ramker, a Two-year veteran has survived through the task of teaching the boys. Yes we will never be able to forget all those days of showers that were also required and how a person suddenly woke up after first hour gym with hair that looked like a tornado had just passed through it. If only you guys could know what a disaster it was trying to get back to looking like our normal selves, maybe then you'd appreciate our good looks. just always remember that gym was exciting in every way. LANGUAGES GROW AT S.T. The five-level courses offered by the St. Thomas Math Department are any- thing but a 'Lgamef' Ask the students who have to 'maintain a high average in order to qualify for the sequential courses. Mrs. Barbara Mosher brings experience and enthusiasm to her work as head of the department. Mr. Eugene Leppanen, who assists her, is a competent mathematician, who also applies his skill to a related area-Drafting. Sister Florentia and Sis- ter Barbara, our language teachers, feel quite at home both in their fields and at St. Thomas. This year French IV and Latin III have been added to the curriculum, enabling students to earn a major in two languages. Skill in reading is emphasized during the first two years of language courses.
