Q90 I , SQ? at :a s xg W Q Class Prophecy By Harvey Sm1th 81 Joseph Bellock As we were speedlng along hlghway 81 1n our latest model Ford whlch was just released from our factory at Grand Forks we dec1ded to look up our old classmates who l1ved and around the v1c1n1ty F1rst of all we v1s1ted Pat Gallagher who 1S professor of the un1vers1ty of Glasston He was dellghted to see us and presented us w1th h1s latest book authographed by h1m self entltled The Meanlng of E1enste1n's Theory Preta1n1ng to the Common Man When we were leavlng we met Jean Roblnson who wlth her asslstant Ann Larson 1S head of the Home Fconom1cs Department They told us of thelr latest accompllshment whlch was the mak1ng of span1sh r1ce wlthout the r1ce Whlle we were talklng they told us that Mav1s Anderson and Patr1c1a O Connor who were also lnstructors at the umverslty were out on an expedltxon 1ntend1ng to collect a rare xnsect named Beetlebonb for thelr zoology laboratory Leax lng the unlverslty we stopped at a modern gas stat1on and found Carl Schultz the owner work1ng on h1s latest project a type of gas called goola gas Glanclng up we saw h1s advert1sment wh1ch was Go fast m1t goola gas Whlle the attendant Orlln Jackson was f1ll1ng our gas tank he told us that the wealthy mlnk rancher Dean Ba1er was 1n town on a buslness trlp Havlng nothlng to do at the tlme we declded to look hlm up We flnally located hlm the Swank Club dlnlng wlth h1s secretary Lo1s Gross Servlng them was Marcla McGlynn who told us that she had worked there for several years The hat check gmrl was none other than the Beverly Chapman who also had graduated from St Thomas After b1dd1ng our fu-nds hello' we sat down to watch the floor show and were astonlshed to see Beverly Johnson step out on the stage to slng and dance When the show was over we went back stage to congratulate her and were m t at the door by her ma1d and dress maker W1lma Gross It was gettmg rather late so we dec1ded to go to a hotel and spend the mght When w stopped for a trafflc llght we saw Beverly Heazlett stop dlrectly behlnd us w1th her Cadlllac Stepplng 1nto the hotel we saw Jeannette Bowman seated at the swltchboard After arr1v1ng at our room we were 1nterrupted by a knock at the door and were 1n formed by the bellhop that an 1mportant call had been recelved from our prlvate secretary Margaret Dletrlch telllng us to return at once to our factory because of urgent buslness So we dec1ded to leave w1th the knowledge that our classmates were successful 1n the careers whey had chosen ,.-'I-A 'N' L :T-1 13 s ft X , .
