THOMAS RINCIPAL'S ESSAGE Dear Graduates of 1960, The Basilian Fathers of St. Thomas hold that the school supplements the work of the parents, it does not substitute the work. Hence it has been our aim to assist your parents and yourselves to transform you from boys to upright, disciplined, educated young men. We trust that you have learned to love God above all things, and further- more, to love your neighbor as yourselves, that you realize that self-discipline is essential for a mature good person, and finally, that you have used your tal- ents wisely, so that you may attain to that excellence which still remains a chal- lenge to you. Regardless of your field of endeavor, you, as graduates of St. Thomas, will be expected to show the effects of this training and to live your daily life in accordance with these principles. If you are ever ready to give a reason for the Faith that is yours, if you act always and everywhere as a Catholic gentleman, we are sure you will do un- told good in a world that greatly needs, in every walk of life, such leaders as you can be, and I hope, will be.
