Foreword For the theme of this year's Hquin we have decided to indicate the fact that God is present in each of our school activities. If the symbol, which is explained on the dedication page, seems out of place with some of the drawings, this merely underlines our imperfect understanding of God's interest and presence in all that we do. I wish here to give thanks to Father Sheehan whose help assured the success of our efforts. My gratitude also to Raeburn Studios and Mr. Samarjian who handled our photography, and to Mr. Ralph Harbison of the Gulf Publishing Company whose instruction and advice got us started and kept us going. Particular credit is due the members of the Qquin editorial staff, those tireless workers who have given so steadily of their time and energy. Special thanks is due, also, to Larry Storrs, who drew our introduction pages; to Bob Kainer, who did the pictures of St. Basil and St. Thomas, and whose Eagle cartoons are seen throughout the book, and to Gerard Hughes for the frontispiece of the school. Finally, I want to thank our principal and faculty for their constant co-operation, and those members of the faculty and student body who helped in special ways. To have been editor of the Qquin of 1953 is the acme of my days at St. Thomas and undoubtedly the greatest honor I have ever received. I Eff Griggd . Thomas Aquinas, the patrnn Of 0111 school
