The purpose of our Student Council is to bring about a closer cooperation between the staff and students on school discipline and school activities. It enables our students, especially the Seniors, to present their Viewpoints and requests to the faculty, cmd to develop leadership and share in responsibility. It is quite evident that the Student Council here at St. Thomas has been instrumental in the development of the outstand- ing school spirit which we have today. Hlong with the more detailed work of the Coun- cil, the frequent assemblies at which the Principal discusses school affairs with the Seniors and the frequent assemblies for the whole student body are, we believe, very wholesome and helpful aspects of our school life. The Student Council plans the social activities, which this year included the cere- monies for the Home Coming Game, and the Mid-qur and Senior Proms. This year's Council also did the promotion work for the Port Hrthur Trip, promoted the Intramural Basketball Tournament and instituted the Student Hall Patrol. The spirit of our school this year has been seldom matched and never surpassed. This is in no small measure due to the leadership of our Student Council. May this spirit continue and increase.
