A t. ' my -f I1 - 0I QlfUOI In this annual, the Hguin of l952, We have chosen as our theme the pictorial recording of the parishes of our Seniors. In doing this, We have pictured all but a few of I-Iouston's Catholic churches. It is our hope that this choice Will prove of interest to many. Producing this book has required much assistance. I wish to acknowledge my gratitude to those who were so generous With their aid. Thank you, Father Miller for making this, our senior publication, a reality. I am grateful, as Well, for the help which the Flguin staff has given. Unself- ish with their time and effort has been Mr. Ralph I-Iarbison of Gulf Pub- lishing Co. and Mr. I-Ienry Hartmann of Baker Color Plate, both of Whom made the rough ways plain. To Mr. Charles Beavers of Raeburn Studios who has given us top quality in photography, my sincere appreciation. Hlso deserving of thanks is . the Houston Chronicle and Station KTRI-I which have provided I us with several photo- I graphs. Hs for myself, the experience and v pleasure connected with my position as ed- itor has been ample re- ' ward. - 7l,?icAae! guferu 4 Olflfelfl la hghqc A ht' 'tt 5 61,26 ,ff K5 Qllloi 'YY Q! ,fx M ,M If ,gy k X 1 af 7! Fitting in with a well rounded pro- gram of schooling is the knowledge one receives from a musical education. It is true that few of the band members will go into the professional field of music, yet what they have learned from the very capable instruction of Mr. lames will serve to gladden many recreational hours and to make the band members more appreciative of the beauties in the world of sound and rhythm. During the past year the band has given several concerts which have specialized not only in difficult marches and semi-classical novelty numbers but also in arrangements of such gems as the New World symphony, the Romeo and luliet Overture and other selections of the same magnitude and depth. We salute our beloved Pappy who has now completed his sixteenth year at St. Thomas. He has given to all with whom he has worked a deep love both for music and for his patience and cor- diality. ! ggy:-W -, ww. 1A 4- .f My H., if fab ' . - 1 '1 I , 4' fm- QM' f,-1 A A ,I SIM . . We lost 6 and won 4. Many injuries plagued us. Two were out for most of the season, Noxie Romano and Iim Mc- Cauley, both casualties resulting from appendectomies. Three had their knees hurt and they were out for the season: Harvey Litchen, end, and also the punterg top defensive halfback, Mickey Guarino, and quarterback, Bat Oggero. Bob Luquette, tackle and Norman Daigle, guard made the all-state team. Our best games were with Baytown, Iesuit of Dallas and Kirwin whom we have now defeated 10 years in suc- cession. Too, our football team would be helpless without the aid of the many Whose work makes it possible for the players to carry out their part of the game. First, in importance, of course, are the coaches to give their wealth of past experience and superior strat- egy to the men on the field. Then, those unsung heroes, the managers do the work which though not glamorous is so very essential. Our cheerleaders shine in the limelight. They deserve it because their positions require much practice and energy expended. Their job is to be certain all of us spectators give out with a moral and vocal support for the team which is representing our school.
