All-City, Dee Strong was Chosen captain and Bob Solly was selected as co- captain. Having been credited with two wins, over Trinity Lutheran and St. Pats. by forfeit, we entered our first conference tilt with Cesu. Although we drew first blood, the Crusaders out-conditioned us and the game ended with a score of 25-6 in favor of Gesu. After a week of extensive conditioning drills. we came into our own by defeating a heavier St. Anthonfs team, 14-6. X ti -rf' 'Pvt'

We scored 98 points in our next two clashes. St. Ann's Crusaders fell before us by a 58-0 score, and we rolled over Pompano 40-0 in our homecoming tilt. Upsets marked the '50 season. We, as did Army and Oklahoma, fell victim to an inferior foe. St. Mary's defeated us 14-6. We are indeed proud of Vic Calay and Dee Strong who made All-City. 7 Jr' lv-'li :af :faq-nm 42
