To the l959 Graduates of St. Teresa's Academy, It is with great joy that I congratulate you, my dear Graduates, on this new achievement in your lives. Our life in this world always has victories and failures and, strangely enough, we need failures as much as we need success in order to grow to full maturity. We need trials and difficulties in order to grow spiritually to the full stature to which Christ has destined us. Your graduation, my dear young men and women, takes place in the year which is known in the diocese as our DIOCESAN EUCHARISTIC YEAR. Might I suggest that you think seriously about this coincidence and that you take it as a guide in your future relations with God? In other words, I am asking you to make your lives eucharistic, no matter what vocation may be yours in this world. If you will do so, I am confident that God will make you His instruments in the accom- plishment of much good in the years you are given to live here below. In conclusion, may I recall that each of you owes a great debt of gratitude to God, for the many graces of these four years, to your parents for the sacrifices they have made, and to St. Teresa's Academy for the opportunities it has afforded you as high school students.
