May l, i958 My dear Graduates, You are the graduates of St. Teresa's Academy for the year 1958! You are being graduated in a year that marks the centennial of the apparitions of Our Blessed Mother to little Bernadette Soubirous in France. That is a happy coincidence. Perhaps it should also be a lesson. It can be if we reflect that Bernadette is known to the entire Catholic world-and to more besides- not because she was Bernadette but because of her friendship with Our Lady. It is because Mary appeared to her and gave her a mission, ls it not true that Mary has a mission for every graduate of St. Teresa's this year? lt seems to me, my dear graduates, that your Marian mission is similar to Bernadette's. Hers was prayer, especially the Rosary, and sacrifice for the conversion of sinners. Yours, too, is prayer and sacrifice. The question in my mind is: Will you live up to that glorious l'mission ? God grant that you may! ln closing, while I congratulate you most heartily on your graduation, may l also assure you of my prayers that you may be faithful to the mission that is Yours' Sincerely yours in Christ, + Bishop of Boise HIS EXCELLENCY THE MOST REVEREND JAMES J BYRNE BlSHOP OF BOISE

ANNA TERESA, C.S.C., PRINCIPAL lf X mix I rf Ii '05 Message To The Graduates Each member of the Class of i958 is aware, I om sure, of the urgency of the times. As the leaders of peoples gather to parley and hurl threat against threat, each Christian is being personally challenged to do what he can to preserve civilization. There are two vital contributions each of you can make. You can lead constantly a deeply Catholic, apostolic life, and you can bend your best efforts to the further learning and diffusion of that truth, philosoph- ical, social, and political which is the free world's only effective weapon against godless materialism.
