ST. TERESA ACADEMY KANSAS CITY, MISSOURI V -J : - n ' • 1 There is nothing that vanishes more quickly than time. We are born and before long we are adults trying to cope in a very diffi- cult world. Most of us fail to realize how quickly the moments of our youth pass until they are over. Whether or not we should concern ourselves with the passing of time is a questionable is- sue in the minds of most. Time routinely passes day to day ac- knowledged by only a few. Experience shows us that the com- pletion of four years, which as freshmen we regard as an eternity, slips by us ever so quickly. Freshman year seems to pass in an instant. The first fears of a new school are soon gone. Being newcomers we have a lot to learn and a lot of time to learn it. Sophomore and Junior years seem to drag on as se- niority is built up with the many firsts such as Teresian, class rings, and Prom. At last the final year arrives and it's filled with many great experiences. From September to May the time flies until it's all over. Looking back it seems ironic. From the first moment of Freshman year we longed for graduation but when it's over, we then want to stop the clock, turn back time and re- live all those precious moments that once seemed meaningless. Our yearbook this year attempts to make the present students at St. Teresa's more conscious of the truly memorable moments we have shared in this year of 1977-78 in the school community as well as the Kansas City community and to capture the TIMES for the seniors to remember. These are moments of our youth which we need to appreciate NOW. Susan Singleton Editor 4 in the time of your life live 7 in the time of your life Teresian Dance The Teresian Dance on November 23, 1977 brought a touch of heaven to Crown Cen- ter. Dynaflo provided dancing music for the group until the corona- tion at 10:30. After the ceremonies, the newly crowned queen, Kathy Scanlon, and her atten- dants, Sarah Jo John- son, Sophomore, and Lynn King, Junior, led the dancing to the theme song: Come Sail Away . li 12 14 The Alameda Plaza was the setting for the annual Parent Dinner-Dance on February 3, 1978. The theme of the event was a salute to the Plaza. Honored guests were Gov- ernor Joseph Teasdale, and Miller Nichols, representing the Country Club Plaza. Entertainment was provided by the Madrigals, Advanced Chorus, and dancers under the direction of Mrs. Colette Dennihan and Mrs. Gerry Kinerk. 15 there is a season for everything 16 One dollar and a little imagination was all that was needed to come in creative and varied dress for Halloween. Cos- tume Day, sponsored by the SCO began with a representative of the best cos- tume being chosen from each advisory. Throughout the day, other students voted on the best costume by giving donations to their favorite. All proceeds went to the missions. 17 FATHER-DAUGHTER BANQUET 18 On February 22 at the Gold Buffet a record crowd of girls and their fathers attended the Father-Daughter Dance. The couples began arriving at 6:00 for the cocktail hour and despite the cold, wet weather, the party was in full swing by 7:30. The music for the evening was provided by the Boos Brothers and ranged from Johnny B. Good to Feelings. One of the high points of the night was the senior dance contest, this year won by Chris Foley and her father. 19 WPA-1978 NIGHT RING 25 26 Cherish forever our moments ... precious and few ... 27 ADMINISTRATIVE TEAM Administrative Staff: Pam McIntyre, Associate Principal, Faculty Services, Science; Sr. Helen Sr. Patricia Gillespie, Guidance Zambrowicz, Administrator, Parent Services; Sr. Maria Joseph Walsh, Associate Principal, Margaret Clark, Guidance Student Services, Religion 28 J J 1 J J J 1 I J STUDENT SERVICES Upper left: Pauline Reardon Dean of Students Middle: Sr. Loretta Herkenhoff Registrar Lower left: Mary Donovan Secretary Above: Sr. Grace Louise Massing Treasurer, Business 29 30 Sr. Mary Stolte Patricia Gallagher 31 Pauline Moyer, Home Economics Nancy Nestor Hand, Business 33 34 35 Sr. Pam Harding, Team Leader 36 CD O CD CD CD 0 CD O LL Sarah Ziegelmeyer, French and Spanish Sue Pierson, Spanish ■■■37 Alison Azar Kathleen Baker Katherine Barr Kathleen Bauer Donna Behrens Lisa Beil Noreen Beitling Ann Bisaha Janet Bono Teresa Bowersox Shelley Bowman Michele Broadus Terrill Allen Michele Atchity FRESHMEN Mary Burns Elizabeth Bustillo Rosemary Byrne Melinda Campbell Sylvia Case Rose Castor Gretchen Collins Patricia Concannon Sheila Cosgrove Mary Cowherd Carla Criswell Kathleen Daly 39 Lisa Darton Elizabeth DaSilva Sheila Douglas Cynthia Duchardt Kathleen Duffy Teresa Ecord Martha Edwards Stasie Enneking Laurie Farnen Kathy Farrington Thea Federico Diane Fiorella Christine Flavin Louisa France Tracey Franklin Barbara Fritzlen Carrie Gangel Lea Ann Garrett Kemi Glavis Amy Giblin 40 Judy Griffin Mary Growney Hazel Harper Julie Harris Anna Hart Lynnette Haskins Cathy Heili Mary Beth Henges Robbie Hill Michelle Hodes Margaret Hogan Barbara Ireland Katherine Ismert Tracy Iwersen Carla Jenkins Therese Johnson Valerie Jones Janet Jordan Kim Kalen Annie Keenan 41 Michele Kellerman Deborah Kelly Loma Kelton Geraldine Koehler Deane Kunzweiler Denise Laughlin Mary Beth Lewis Sheila Lillis Debra Lombardino Erin Lynch Tina Lytle Maria Manzo Karen Massman Kristen McAuliffe Mary Anne McGannon Eileen McGraw Therese McNamara Elizabeth McQueeny 42 Kathleen McShane Kristin Merrigan Catherine Mertz Alecia Mesa Patricia Metzler Cindy Mick Sarah Millard Teresa Monahan Laura Moran Sheila North Cindy Nothnagel Jazel Nunnelly Linda O'Brien LaDonna Paschal Michelle Peltier 43 Laura Randle Christine Renshaw Susan Rodriguez Anne Rogers Laura Rogge Julie Sawtelle Molly Scanlon Ellen Schleicher Kim Schroer Susan Seigfreid Mary Shaughnessy Maggie Sheehan Mary Shortino Laura Sohonage Mary Susan Staab Shannon Sperry Teresa Stafford Julie Straub Mary Sterner Jarrie Stewart c o c TJ co 2 • £ o o5 OO a ro E a 2 o .c jo i— % C CO a .. tj CO V) a: LlI q! o. o if oo 00 CO D 5 g o 44 Maureen Sullivan Kim Swanson Suzanne Tankard Rebecca Tavernaro Sarah Taylor Linda Teson Amy Thompson Penny Tucker Mary Turek Frances VandergrifF Sandra Vincent Christine Wagner Kelly White Vickie Wilcox Jennifer Wilson Linda Wiseman Bernadette Young Cheryl Yelick Mary Zahner Katherine Zimmer 45 Shauna Aylward Camille Azar Aunna Baker Denise Bantrup Debbie Bartimus Carla Belt Bernie Biermann Denise Biersmith Carol Binnie Sally Blake Anne Blanton Monica Boyd Teresa Bradley Annette Brennan Molly Brennan 46 Yvette Bumpus Diane Burrichter Laura Burrill Rose Camp Lois Cascio Candi Cain Kaelen Castrop Paula Chappell Veronica Coleman Susan Coppinger Michelle Craddock Jean Crass Susan Cornish Janet Cruciani Sherri Davis 47 Joni Dickinson Mary Dobson Patty Dolan Peggy Donohue Kelly Drummond Carol Douglas Anita Duchardt Tracy Edralin Mary Failoni Megan Fitzsimmons Mary Ann Flaherty Kathy Flemington Helen Foley Meredith Freeman Suzanne Giblin 48 Deborah Hill Patricia Hodes Karen Hogan Kathy Hogan Karla Houston Karen Ireland Sarah Johnson Elizabeth Jones Jennifer Keller Julie Karl 49 Patty Livingston Lisa Lewis Lisa Lillis Nancy Lombardino Mary Ellen Lopez Colleen Lowe Libby Lynch Lisa Marietti Michelle Mayer Laurie McCarthy Cheryl McCorkindale Sheila McKenna Katie McNamara Janice McNellis Kathleen Meagher Rita Medellin Gina Meyers 50 Pamela Nix Joellen O'Byrne Katie O'Connell Jean O'Laughlin Marci O'Connor Chris Olson Lori Orpin Diane Oyer Nancy Patterson Julie Paradise 51 SOPHOMORE OFFICERS: Courtney Kraus, President; Jean O'Laughlin, Vice- president; Teresa Bradley, Treasurer; Sarah Jo Johnson, Secretary O TJ CD •= ■—.
