Mrs. Mauney has served our school for many years as teacher, librarian and CORONA Advisor. In fact, she even gave the SSHS annual its present name when- twenty-five years ago-Miss Rosa Sox asked her to try to think of a suitable new title for the LEADER. As Latin teacher, she devised the name CORONA which means “crown.” Since then, the CORONA has become the crowning point of each school year. Thank you, Mrs. Mauney, for your loyal service to the students of St. Stephens. Mrs. R. G. Mauney In Appreciation of Mrs. R. G. Mauney. 3

. N'i RRURY • I I fr YKAll i:isr Miss Georgia Sherrill Miss Georgia Sherrill Guided The Quill and Scroll in Presenting . . . In mid-winter, 1967, much to the regret of the student body of St. Stephens, Miss Georgia Sherrill was forced to retire due to an extended illness. As advisor for the 1966-67 Thomas Wolfe Chapter of the Inter- national Honorary Quill and Scroll Society, she was responsible for presenting the SSHS Official Coat-of- Arms and Official Fight Song to the student body. This Coat-of-Arms was placed for a lasting impres- sion on the past, present, and future St. Stephens students. As a constant reminder, it adorns the covers of the 1968 and 1969 CORONA and is also on a plaque in the hall outside the office. Thank you. Miss Sherrill, for your eternal contribution to the students of St. Stephens. 4
