l My Bay :glue Qgiisfzge Eight class periods, five hours a day Han invitation to learn and to enjoy doing just that. Many people have wondered what that spark is that makes us Stephenites so eager to reach school in the morning, and so reluctant to leave it at night . . . what'that iipushn is that enables us to do those little things that many people consider wasted moments. That spark that compels me to jump out of my soft, warm bed in the morning is eagerness and curiousity to find out what pleasant surprises await me at school. Perhaps l shall discover an assembly scheduled or a movie charted for the afternoon. That push is simply a genuine love for my Alma Mater and my earnest desire to support it in every way. When the Catholic Uni- verse Bulletin Drive or the Ad and Patron campaign for the class play began, l readily accepted the challenge and used a bit of that push to spur my homeroom into first place. Then too, my classes were so varied that l became interested in them without difhculty. The Sisters had at their fingertips little devices that made classwork and studying so worthwhile for me. What is more valuable to a journalism student than actually to see a Cleveland paper being composed? The sophomore English classes have improved their letter-writing skill by corresponding with German girls who were mastering the fundamentals of English, Geometry students often exhibited their artistic inclinations by draw- ing designs with geometric symbols as their bases. Girls all like fashions and more than that, they like to parade their very own creations. Home Economics has enabled us to do just that. These are just a few good reasons why l love school and why l miss it after graduation. Do you understand a little more clearly why we Stephenites have that certain light spring in our step and that happy twinkle in our eyes?

0 Lord, I am not worthy. M9019 ai 9316155.51 Rows of Stephenites kneeling in prayer . . . Monsignor Gerz or Father Battes offering the Mass . . . And through the church, adding an inspiring atmosphere to the scene, the beautiful strains of the Mass being sung by our Glee Club . . . Approaching with our classmates to receive Our Divine Lord in Holy Communion . , . These are memorable scenes treasured by all the girls at St. Stephens. What a perfect start for any day . . . The entire student body attending the holy sacrifice of the Mass. Wednesday morning Mass, we believe, is one of the most treasured memories we will have of St. Stephens It has given us a wonderful feeling of unity with one another in and through God.
