It isn't an elaborate annual, we admit. There are many improve- ments that could be made. But between its simple cover lies the spirit of St. Stephen High. XVe, the staff of Rc'flc't'fio11s have labored long and patiently in order to produce this yearbook. To us it has been a source of many laughs as well as worries and we can now look back with amuse- ment upon tlie difficulties which formerly had seemed so ominous. Sister Mary Elaine has been an indispensable friend and advisor in all our problems, and so to her, and to all who helped in any small way, we extend our sincerest gratitude. ,, Laverne NViemels Dorothy Roth Coletta XVensink Marion Ziegelmeyer Editor Literary Editor Business Manager Art Editor Anne Powers Coletta Stack Coletta Schmidt Asst. Under the direction of Sister Mary Ada, they have attained various degrees of speed ranging as high as 73 words a minute with not more than five errors in ten minutes. Two representatives were chosen by the faculty from each junior, sophomore, and freshman homeroom. The new Student Council members were presented with armbands which had been designed by Sister Mary Leonore. The main accomplishment of the Student Service Council during the second semester was the elimination of tardiness on the part of students. This was attained by stricter vigilance on the part of Council members and by the innovation ofthe pink tardy slips.
