i N - ji' Fore ord Backward, turn backward, O time in Thy flight! The River Time, a brimming stream, blends with the ocean of years with a faultless rhythm and a musical rhyme. As we, the class of '49, climb the lofty Bridge of Future, we pause to reverse the course of Time. XVe extend our deep gratitude to the guiding light of our education and the nucleus of our school-The Administration and The Faculty. Through their benevolent guidance, we have attained the first glory of any school-a line of ideal graduates-gentlemen and gentlewomen with character, personality and apostolic zeal, who will be of energetic will, socially successful, and a real influence. The thoughts and advice of our superiors will always remain in our memory. NVe, The CHALLENGERS, -a name suitably applied to the Class of '49-accept the summons of the obscured, confused world. Armed with the weapons of truth, justice and righteousness, we enter the sphere of perplexity with a steadfast, reliant stride. We stand on the shore of verity, unflinched by the subversive principles of the communists pervading the universe. God, our Mighty Fortress, is our only refuge and strength. We have dedicated our loyalty to God- Christ is our center, we are Christo- centricf' We shall endeavor to satiate the earth with God-fearing men. Our aim, to Christify the secular world, shall encounter many obstacles, but in the end truth will emerge triumphant in this chaotic strife. Our exit from S.S. High, a significant event, is designated to reap bountiful fruitsg our confidence in God is overwhelming. Our reiterating echo shall constantly envelop the hallowed hall of our Alma Mater- If God be with us, who can go against us? Time is the most precious gift of God to men. The CHALLENGERS chose the hands of the clock as the supporting theme of the 1949 STAN-EM to stress its importance in the field of education. The hands of the clock move with rhythmic precision, arousing various emotions, for- TIME is Too slow for those who wait Too swift for those who fear Too long for those who grieve Too short for those who rejoice But for those who love TIME is ETERNITY
