, mr Nmnnn, - -'--- ---- -7- --- My Jem Qaacluala It is always with mixed feelings, that I say my parting word to the Graduates. I rejoice, that another group of boys and girls whom we received as callow youths, are now leaving the portals of St. Stanislaus High-prepared to meet the vicissitudes of life. But, I also grow pensive, when they reach the turning point in their lives, when as St. Paul says They put away the things of a child and launch into the world on their own. I then post the questiong Have we, to whom they have been entrusted, acquitted ourselves creditably? Only their future lives can answer that satisfactorily. I believe however-that under our guidance and direction, you have become heirs of a resplendent Catholic and American heritage, and are ready to live it and transmit it to others. I was particularly arrested by the apt motto you have chosen: CHRIST IS OUR CENTER-WE ARE CHRISTO-CENTRIC. In these days of all absorbing secularism, we must stress an all absorbing Christ-Centrism. There is only one antidote for secular- ism, and that is Christo-Centrism. The more the world tries to banish Christ from home, school, education, economic life, world neighborliness-the more you as Christophers-Christ bearers-must place Him there. But before you can Hinstaurare omnia in Christo, restore all things in Christ-you must restore Christ in your own mind, heart, and soul. Then and only then you will do all things Per Ipsum, cum Ipso et in Ipso -by Him, with Him, in Him. May the spirit of Love of Christ guide you during the years to come. May the spirit of Commemoration Day be the spirit of your Graduation Day. Devotedly yours, REVEREND VINCENT BORKOWICZ 27
