After the Rock- A-Chaws first two losses, the team scored a victory over Nichols of Biloxi; and the second victory, an upset for our arch-rival, Bay SCOREBOX High, was the highlight of the season. The undefeated Tigers went into the game as S.S.C. Opponent the confident Goliath to do battle with a supposedly feeble opponent. However, when the last second 0 Shaw 41 had passed the Cats had fallen and the Rock-A-Chaws stood as victors. The game seemed to be a preview 6 Nichols (forfeit) 16 of what to expect for the future. St. Stanislaus finished with a winning season. 6 Ocean Springs 34 Coach Pitalo and his staff were the real motivat¬ ing force in the success of the team. Coach Cuccaro 15 Bay High 8 who trained the line, and Coach Jones who took the backs, did a remarkable job in putting a fresh and unexperienced team on its feet. 28 River Oaks 14 Some of the outstanding players were Bob Ed¬ wards who led in scoring and rushing, Jay Chauvin 26 Long Beach 16 who has inked a contract with U. S. Gregory J. Johnson celebrated the Mass and Rev. Patrick H. Koch, S.J., delivered the commencement address.
