May God bless you in the fine work of Christian education that you are doing. | To the young men who come to St. Stanislaus you are giving not only that which will fit them for positions of prominence in business or professional circles but you are giving them more. You are giving them a philosophy of life founded upon the teachings of Our Divine Master, Jesus Christ — a philosophy that assures them that man is a child of God destined to a high and noble life — a philosophy that gives them incentive to strive for the noble things in life. It is sad to see young men groping their way through life with no philosophy save that we are here today and gone tomorrow — with no incentive to virtue save that presented by this fleeting world. Again I say God bless you in the work that you are doing. Sincerely yours in pee ue оў MOST REVEREND К. О. It has been for us a year of great moment. Soon we shall step forward to assume the responsibilities of manhood for which we have been prepared here at St. Stanislaus. Our years here have not been uneventful. The past now stands before us as a tapestry woven with the myriad threads of joys and sorrows, successes and failures of youthful ex- perience. With the aid of moderating hands we have fashioned it into an exquisite pattern overshadowed by the ideals of Christian manhood that will influence our future lives. In leaving, therefore, we do not go empty-handed; rather, ably equipped spiritually, intellectually, and physically, we depart confident of success і our new endeavors. - . May the future years, with God's help, sustain us in the truly Christian life for which St. Stanislaus eminently stands in its devotion to Catholic Youth. Paradox- ically it shines forth in those men who, although living and laboring quietly and unassumingly, nonetheless exert tre- mendous influence upon the lives of others. Such is true of Brother Aurelian. Who would not be in- fluenced by the courage and strength of character of a man willing to suffer expatriation and all its entailing trials in order to devote his life to helping others? Who would not be inspired by a man whose every action is motivated by an unquestioned love and devotion to a cause to which he has unsparingly and unselfishly dedicated himself? To Brother Aurelian, therefore, in whom the students may find the courage, generosity and faith of a truly great man and whom his confreres may find a model of love and devo- tion to duty, this book is gratefully dedicated. йо а састы атыса су а аа OE ас аа с AE DROTHER AURELIAN, S.C. Principal of St. Stanislaus College PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE To the Class of 1957, The occasion of the graduation of the senior class is always one of great concern to the faculty. So much depends on its members — they are the future of our country, our Church! They represent the next generation! So truly do they bear a great responsibility! Yes, there is a great satisfaction in seeing so many boys of sterling character as in this class, complete their secondary educa- tion and begin to assume their responsibilities. You have shown that you can accept these responsibilities, as partners with Christ in Catholic Action. You have been not only shining examples to the undergraduates, but also young men who have assimilated from teachers, and engendered in yourselves the high principles of character that are the aim and goal of every St. Stanislaus student. What will happen to you? This is in God's hands — but we can be assured that you will continue to be the same fine and creditable examples you now are, if you will live by those same high principles and ideals that actuated you as seniors. Recourse to Him and to His Blessed Mother for renewal of strength will make you the bulwarks of faith and of the Church in these troubled times. So my heartfelt wish is that you ever be imbued with Christ, and ever devoted to His dear Sacred Heart, an ocean of mercy and love as well as of infinite strength. God bless you and keep you.
