Nineteen hundred and fifty-six . . . this was the year we graduated. As you can see from the pictures, it was a year filled with numerous activities, both spiritual and material. But look closer! With the eye of your imagination take a glimpse beyond the mere visible, into the hearts, the joys, the anxieties of each one of us. Intermingled with the nervous energy of youth were joys and sorrows, laugh¬ ter and tears, successes and failures. Looking back, the sorrows, tears and failures appear as laughable incidents, even as successes, because of the happy memories of friends long known and deeply loved. Within these pages are reminders of the good old days filled with ex¬ periences, perhaps at times bitter-sweet, but dear to all of us because, although many, we were struggling for a common goal, a desired end. Through it all we were aided, encouraged and, yes, even moderated, by men devoted to our advancement intellectually and physically but above all spiritually. This advancement, although hardly noticeable, was achieved. But only at great cost. The hard work was anticipated with sad hearts; tears were shed over the many failures. It is because of these tears, these failures, that we look back upon the year with laughter in our eyes, with joy in our hearts, for they were not the catastrophes we then imagined them. These have become in reality the good old days for we have emerged victorious among our many defeats. We have been fast approaching manhood. Our present prayer is that in future years we may again look back and say that we have added to the foundation a structure of which we may be truly proud.
