V' To you, dear Father Daly, on this memorable occasion of the Silver Jubilee of your pastorate in St. Simon Stock Parish, the class of 1959 offers heartfelt con- gratulations. Ordained to offer sacrifice and appointed as mediator between God and your flock, you have won love and admiration as a spiritual leader, performing with undaunted faith your duties in the parish during these twenty-five years. To the students of the high school you have been a kind and loving leader as you followed in the steps of the Good Shepherd. Our high school first knew you as a teacher. With gentleness and tolerance you led the students to follow your example on the pathway that leads to God, and instructed them wisely in the fiehl of faith t and morals. 1 As pastor, all students, parishioners and non-parishioners alike, have grown to love you and your gentle ways. Each year as the school term began, we gathered before the Holy Tabernacle eagerly awaiting the encouraging words by which you inspired us to follow the rules of lawful authority in conformance with God's Holy Will. These words awakened in us, the Christian youth of today and the Catholic leaders of tomorrow, the awareness of the responsibilities which we will face. The strength and courage with which we have been instilled will enable us to meet the unforeseen future as mature and respected citizens in a democracy. To you then, Father Daly, we do extend our humble thanks, and as an expression of our gratitude we sincerely dedicate to you the 1959 STOCKADE. ,PY 4
