It will be a longtime before I shall see her again. How quickly the years have passed! From timid little Freshmen to The Seniors . . . We have reached the goal which seemed so far away. Our first official appearance as Seniors was at the Mass of the Holy Ghost. Were we more fervent? Were we more attentive to Father Daly's words of counsel? 52 lt was our turn to welcome the Incoming Freshmen to make them feel that they had friends who would help them through the trials and trlbulatnons of their flrst year at a new school What a feellng of lm portance' October Our Llvmg Rosary gave specual homage to our Lady Stockade tags were proudly worn as the fhrst year book druve got under way Shall we ever forget the day we received the proofs of our graduation plctures' From Freshmen days we had dreamed of the time when the Torch would be ours to edut Now how eagerly we awauted our first Issue' The witches brought out thelr dusty brooms bats were flying In the our and a fruendly splder had taken up has abode nn the audltoruum We were enjoying the Harvest Hop-the tlrst dance of the year. 1 'V xt . . . A circle of gold and a shiny blue stone-at last we were the proud and happy possessors of our Senior rings . . . We cheered our Varsity with more enthusiasm than ever. Why? It was the Alumni Game, of course! Next year we would be returning for it. Each Senior looked forward to his stage appearance in Sing Out the Melody . . We had such a good time and will always cherish our 'memories of it. Our last Christmas at Simon - there was a note of sadness as we sang our favorite carols and exchanged gifts for the last time. . . , Attendance at the Sodality Communion Breakfast gave us added strength to meet those strenuous end terms . . . But hard things do not last forever . . . When January was almost over the auditorium was turned into a winter wonderland. Bright snowflakes glittered everywhere. It was the night of the Snow Ball. fi. If .5-. if DQ t rs I ' . Q YP- 4 l V 4 i Ai sf .. , ' I AQ LG.-ef February . . . Work on the Stockade became more intense. Cameras continued to click - layouts were planned - the yearbook began to take shape . , . Where? When? These were only two of the questions that had to be answered as we began to make definite arrangements tor our Prom. We, Senior girls, left our worldly cares and went for a week end to St. Joseph Retreat House at Middletown. On our return we received further inspiration from Simon's annual retreat - our last one. Were those little circles of light halos? . . . Spring was ushered in by the Spring Festival . . .- And then it was here - the long waited for Senior Prom! The girls with their dresses of pastels and the boys with their tuxedos looked as if they had stepped out of a picture. What a grand night it was! Graduation . . . Our dreams had become a reality. Parents' proud eyes followed our every move. With awe and ioy we received our diplomas and with them four, wonderful, not-tovbe-forgotten years- Did I wait long? The time has passed quickly, Sister. It always does when you reminisce. 55 ':': . . Q www? I ' x , :f Q3 X ' H.: S22 Urn i Mi! 1 1 I :X rv, 1 Q 6, ,fa 1 w M. - f -55 wg' A , . Q -'N my-M I W. N' 'K vnu- va : ' H..
