1 + A 599111 Heil sv 'MASSAOK WILLIAM LAWRENCE COSGROVE, JR. uBi rr -I ul'-'illyn .1 ucosvr Football 2, 3 4 Ring Committee Captain 4 Chairman 4 Basketball 2 3 4 Senior Week Baseball 2 3 4 Committee 4 VN alrus 4 Senior Prom Arrow 4 Comm1ttee 4 umor Prom Comm1ttee3 Treasurer 4 Holy Cross Notre Dame The fu st szgh of lote ts the last of uzsdom BRET At the begining of our sophomore year we found 1n our midst for the first time a rather handsome young gentleman named Willlam Cosgrove Daily B111 made the arduous journey from the remote fastnesses of the hills and forests of historic Lex ington Once safe on the hill however B111 was quick to win many friends among the San Sebastianx Even from h1s Freshman days B111 began to make quite a name for himself on the gridiron Not one to 11m1t himself solely to athletic endeavors he proved his scholastic ability by placing cons1stently among the top ten students in the class Each morning Cos can be sp1ed racing madlv up the H111 in his blue Studebakei More than mere rumor testifies that this Studebaker has carried Cos on many secret and excitmg escapades In the world of Society our Lilly IS what m1ght be called a Soclal Lion Dur1ng his first year he was often seen devotlng himself to any of a number of belles but in h1s junior year he concentrated his romantic attention on the sister of another member of the class of 53 Since then he has found most of h1s Saturday nights and even some afternoons qu1te pleasantly occupied Always loval to his class and the school his appearance became a matter of course at school func tions During the summer months B111 finds hlmself particularly attracted to Scituate where cavortlng with such illustrious characters as ack Maloney Lou Russell and Larry Cummings he has the reputation of being qu1te a man about town Wlthout fear of contradiction we may say that Cos IS one of the most proficient athletes in the memory of the school On the gr1d1ron he earned a startmg berth as a sophomore and was the team s hlgh scorer for two years His team mates showed their confidence in h1m and the1r sincere admiration for his ability by electing him captain of last fall s successful squad In basketball B111 was a high school ed1t1on of Bob Cousy and h1s adept passing and shooting did much to help the school win the Class B crown two vears ago In the spring he was a reliable hard hitting shortstop on the baseball team Like some more of us B111 IS still rather undec1ded about h s cholce of a college but he seems to favor either Notre Dame or Holy Cross However no matter vshat the college or even the career that Cos may choose to follow in the distant future we feel qu1te sure that h1s Wlnnlng manner and abundance of talents vull insure fox hlm certain success and years of happiness I l 1 sv a nun rr sues E ur-:nw Mu FiUZ1I3.EH'J' ' 3 w ' , 9 a ' , .
