The story of the adjustment of the arrows to the bow is con- tained in this history of our years at St. Sebas- tian's. The arrow's power is dependent on the strength and pliability of the bow. St. Sebas- tian's roots are deep in the soil of Christian culture. From this source our growing tree has drawn its evident strength and pliability. 1-l 63 I-1

l 1 1 l x .- - , Maura.. 1 FRESHMEN - - - Wlien we were very young CLASS HI TORY September 17, 19-15 was the red-letter day on which we first entered the portals of St. Sebastians The School had already graduated its first class the preceding june and we were the fifth Freshman group to climb Nonantum Hill. In company with the rest of the world, the student body of 165 was jubilant over the achievement of V-j Day as it made its way to the Chapel for the Mass of the Holy Ghost that was to inaugurate the School year formally. Entering the Chapel, we were impressed by its simple beauty and, during the celebration of the Holy Sacrifice, we felt very close to the Author and Giver of all blessings. After he had recited the prayers at the end of Mass, Father Mclnnis, 'the Headmaster, addressed us from the sanctuary and made known to us the ideals and requirements of the School. Here, for the first time, we were warned that three hours study each night was of the essence and that academic success would come only by dint of Blood, sweat and tears. Wfhen the rosters of the various classes were announced, the students left the Chapel to repair to their respective classrooms and we found that the Freshmen had been divided into two sections designated arbitrarily as 1-1 65 1,1
