The four cardinal principles of the Society are Character, Service, Leadership, and Scholarship. Character is the force in one man which distinguishes him from others. Service is the rendering of any possible assistance to our fellowmen. Leader- ship is the ability to go ahead when others hesitate. It is the power to lead others in the way of better things. Scholarship means a love of learning. A real student knows the benefits of a cultivated mind. Light is the Symbol of Truth is the motto of the National Honor Society. The light of truth must never grow dim but must grow brighter and brighter. At the Induction Ceremony on February 17, Patricia Murphy and Deborah O Connor, Senior Honor Society members, gave the torch to Jane Acobert, Carol Brouillette, Adaline Green, Mary Ann Kemp, Carolyn Leech, Dorothy Sauer, Mary Lee Speth, and Mary Ann Ueding.
