Much emphasis has been placed on the importance of clubs and organi- zations at St. Rita. In 1924 the CAS- CIAN, then a bi-monthly publica- tion, got its start later to become an annual yearbook. It was soon fol- lowed by the Mother's Club, and by the award-winning newspaper, the RITAN. Today the RITAN ranks among the top 50 school newspapers in the country. Organizations such as the Knights of Augustine, the National Honor Society, and the Stu- dent Broadcasting System were formed and the extra-curricular scene at Rita started to flourish. The school has just enjoyed a rebirth of interest in activities as it saw 23 organizations functioning for the students in the 1979-80 school year. Concert and En Thursday, Oct. St. Rita! 1.
