ST RITAS PAREN'I TEACHERS ORGAIXIZATIOIN In reflectrng upon the act1v1t1es of our P T O we were rntrrgued by the drverslty of the1r efforts and the success they achleved rn almost every held From the monetary aspect 1t 1S evldent that our ladles are forever on the alert for ways and means of enrlchmg therr treasury No effort IS spared to earn enough money to purchase all the modern equrpment so necessary for the school of today To enumerate a few 1t 1S well to recall how tremendously rewardlng wa therr Annual Dessert Card Party 1n August of the past year A full house came to be regaled 1n the playrng of cards and above all to observe the dexterity of Mr Ioseph Portaro-an expert IH hls fleld rn the arrangements of my ladys corffure He fascmated the entlre crowd Then came the Bazaar at wh1ch all the members worked l1ke bees rn a bee h1ve to meet therr goal of more than a thousand dollar profrt Thrs event was unquestlonably the most successful frnanclally Moreover there was a paper drrve a rummage and several bake sales all of whrch swelled thelr mcome for the year to a pornt where they could purchase such thrngs as desks cha1rs and a prolector for the school a cooler convent We may not forget here too that from the e funds they provlded a dehghtful t1me for the chrldren at the plcnrc and at Chr1stmas t1me From the vrewpornt of general knowledge 1t was mo t enyoyable to watch the sl1des and movres of our own Dr Srrneone Chref of Staff at the Cleveland Clty Hospltal who was sent on a m1ss1on by our natronal gov ernment to spread good w1ll for Amerrca among the people of the Near East Another guest who was most generously recerved by those fortunate to attend was the emlnent natronally known Mr Campbell who was born bllnd and who galned hrs srght at the age of erghteen years Upon lrstenlng to hrm we are sure that all those present were most thankful to God for thexr eyes Many more observatrons could be noted here to g1ve our parents a more comprehenslve prcture of the act1v1t1es of our P T O These however at least touch upon the mam events And we are most anxlous to express our smcerest thanks to all the ofhcers and members who contrrbuted therr efforts to make the school year of 1054 1955 so pleasant for all Flnally we are hopeful that the new year wrll add many more trophles to our ladles of the P T O and we trust that the new offlcers w1ll try hard to cement the beautrful relatronshrp that exrsts rn our school among teacher parent and puprl 9 I ' W 9 T T S l I h . for beverages, also allowing them to make a donation of 5500.00 to the . , , s .
