OwTtMb I$ Now For most of us, school takes at least thirteen years of our lives. It is up to each one of us to make the most of that time. It is for each one to accomplish what he can, to learn and to make friends. We must have happy times to remember in the future; those little everyday happenings that can mean so much. As seniors we must prepare ourselves for after graduation. We each will pursue our own direction, that we may live our lives to the fullest. And yet, we all go the same way. We all face the task of making for those who will follow behind us, a better world in which to live. Bonnie Smith and her hairdresser, Randy Palmer. Far Upper L: Crowning at 1972 Sr. Prom. LftOitfvtct Visits S.R .F- Maria Leonora Ziegele, the foreign exchange student, came toS.R.F. from Valdivia, Chile and stayed from mid January to March 23. Her host parents were Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Rockhill. Although there was a lan- guage problem at first, Leonora quickly became a part of the school life. She was always willing to meet people and to tell others what life is like in Chile. The Student Council held a tea for her to meet other students and the faculty members. Leonora was usually busy, as she took part in several activities. Her cheering could be heard at most of the ball games. She, also, proved to be a very good volleyball player. Even though she sometimes fell, the ball found its way over the net. The food was different from what she nor- mally ate, but she said it was good and gained about 10 pounds. Everyone who met Leonora liked her, and the memories of her happy face and cheer- ful laughter will long remain. Press Club: R. Hanley, L. Patnode, D. Ross, D. Bishop, S. Sochia, C. Bailey, M. Even in first grade, music class becomes a part of the regular schedule. For Gary Tharrett, above far left, it led to singing a solo at the Christmas Concert. To others like Heidi Johnson, it is found that practice does pay. Stage Band members often practiced until late into the night to prepare for their trip to Potsdam State for the annual Stage Band Festival. Students also organized a pep band. This took extra time, but most people felt it did help in giving the players a little more pep on the basketball courts. After the hours spent practicing those who are in band and chorus hope that someone has gained pleasure from listening to their sounds. Dohui Y Damn Yankees is a sophisticated comedy about Joe Hardy, a long-time fan of the Washington Senators, who sells his soul to the devil for the chance to play in the world series. This was the 1972 Seniors' choice. And with a lot of hard work we were determined to make it the best show ever. We surprised each other with talent we hadn't known we had, and as rehearsals progressed, it became clear that we would make our hopes for success a realization. The Little Saints ended the season with a ten-win and two-loss record, and were in the running for first place all the way until the last game of the season. (Among the returning freshmen are Wayne Collins and Frank Arcadi, who hold great promise for next year's J.V. squad). The SRF Varsity, after play-offs and sectional games, along with the Alex Bay Tourney, ended up playing nineteen games, with a twelve and seven record. We first metyou in Jr. High, where you met our class's challenge. As vemade that stepinto high school, you again did your part in trying to make us responsible individuals. Outside the classroom you have given so much of your time to help our school make a name for itself in sports. Through your actions we have learned that fair play and good sportsmanship provide the princi- ples to follow, no matter whether we are on the basketball court or in the classroom. With pride, the Seniors of 1972 dedicate the Regent to you, Mr. Donald E. Parks. Above: Mr. John Sharpstene, Mr. James Sweeney, Ms. H. Besaw. There were times when we wished that there was no office, or some- body who always seemed to say no to our request. But then, where would we have been with no one to make the decisions and solve our problems? You have provided us a crutch to lean on when nothing slow- ed you down. Boqa L of E fucoiXow For one more year, the Board of Education, has continued its fine work. The members have done their best to make our learning an enjoyable ex- perience. They also made something new possible at S.R.F. The Board provided the money for purchasing materials for the Blue and Gold Challenge . In this year we will setour lifetime goals. We are finding that time is running fast and decisions must be made in an area where we have little experience - life. Time means a lot to us; every hour, minute and second. The course we will fol- low in our future is our decision to make now. Of course it hasn’t all been without fun; as our President said, We've come a long way together and we ve had a lotof fun, except when we got caught. When our year is over, we will congratulate ourselves and say with pride, I finally made it. And WE have! The world stands at our feet. EVA HAYNES QqmI i DUecfrvuj AIKEN, STEVE - V. New proposals were brought about and former activities revived. This was the year we had our first foreign exchange student, second musical production, a pep band formed to play at basketball games, and mini courses were added to the curriculum in journalism, speech, gourmet cooking, and interior design. Whether it was a good year or not is debatable but it was one that won't easily be foigotten. Who could foiget playing pitch in the lounge, the administration on crutches, Goofy wandering the halls, and the girls' basketball team, the only SRF team to beat Brushton. This was 1972, we were a part of it and now it is a part of us. And what a time it was! HAL and BOB'S SEAWAY PRO. West Main St. Malone, N. Y. Compliments of HOTEL CHATEAUGAY Chateaugay, N. Y.
