The new addition, as large as the original school, nears completion. Moving into the new wing makes lots of work for any willing students. Through the Years and in 1957 the gym was remodeled and an elementary wing was added to the north side of the building. Finally in 1968 the new addition and new gym on the west side were started and completed in April, 1969. As the school itself has progressed so have the students. Each year more students, equipped with hard- earned knowledge, leave SRF to face the world. The amount of “Progress” shown in their school plays a big part in the Progress” found in their future. Workmen put up the new basketball scoreboard, one of the final steps. SRF Progresses Above the clattering and moving of students the many sounds of progress have been heard throughout the classrooms of SRF. Thus progress became the Editors' choice for the theme of the 1969 REGENT. In 1860 the first indication of a school, a log cabin, arose on St. Regis Falls soil. In 1865 the first actual school, a two-story wooden building was built. This school burned in 1926 and was rebuilt of brick in 1927. in 1938 an addition was made to the south side Part of the south wing , added in 1938. The original two-story school built in 1865 on the same sight as the present building. 2
