Challenge of Leadership Moderated by Sister Rita Marie Raffaele, G.N.S.H., the Student Government has responded to the challenge of leadership by continuing its traditional projects including the blood drive, homecoming, a leadership seminar and homeroom basketball. Led by co- presidents Henry C. Smith and Debra Gerstner, Student Government has also become involved with the Send-a- Mouse-to-College drive and has sponsored an overseas child. In an effort to get students involved, it has organized the Curriculum, Coordinating, Human Relations and Public Relations Committees. On facing page (top left) Mike Mohr and friend offer suggestions while Student Government members listen attentively to Henry Smith, Eddie Manning and Debra Gerstner (top right). On this page (top left) the co- presidents cooperate in a joint effort; (bottom left) Chris Benjamin enjoys his dinner, while Mrs. Kathleen Woods and Sister Kathy Tomlin substitutes as moderators; (bottom right) treasurer Lisa Volmer reports how much money is not left in the treasury.

an Annual Event fif The Golden Echoes Staff has worked to provide an accurate and colorful history of this school year. This year ' s annual reflects a new format style and time plan to create a more encompassing yearbook, and the staff has applied styles and ideas gained from a summer workshop in Georgetown, Kentucky. The goal has been to include as many students as possbile in the 1979 annual. Co-editors are Andi Ruffin and Kelly Cashin. Miss Susan Crawford is moderator. On facing page, top, the 1979 Golden Echoes staff is present and accounted for; at lower left, the annual staff deliberates still another problem. On this page, Kelly Cashin works on layout, while Kathy McGinn and Maureen McLaughlin (lower left) welcome newcomers to learn about the yearbook.
