and Things On May 28 the Class of 1980 officially became seniors as they recieved their school rings. The Ring Mass was also planned by a student-teacher committee and celebrated by both Father Young and Father Younger. The entire school community attended, and parents were invited. The day that followed found new ring recipients trying to get their rings turned by underclassmen the traditional 80 times before the week was over. They were, as their Mass theme said, Lords of the Rings. 41

Journeys Begun The class of 1979 graduated on May 25 from St. Pius X High School. The ceremony was held in the school activities center. Archbishop Thomas Donnellan presided, aided by Sister Valentina Sheridan and the Rev. Terry Young. Graduates Meghan O ' Neil and Felix Gerdes gave the valedictory and salutatory addresses. Judge Keegan Federal was the guest speaker for the ceremony. Margie Cashin and Robert Klant recieved the Archbishop ' s award for being the girl and boy with the highest grade point averages in four years. The formal ceremony was distributed only once when the final graduate recieved his diploma and the entire class cheered and waved their prizes in the air. The journey had ended... 43
