It is the job of the English Department to teach not only reading, writing and correct speaking but also the interpretation of the writings and speeches of others. The department head is Sister Barbara Sitko, HM. To Freshmen the department offers English I, while Sophomores study archtypes and Writing II. Juniors are offered American literature and Writing III. Senior requirements include British literature and writing. Electives are creative writing, Shakespeare and performing arts.
