Mr. jars '1'o further interest in Parochial sports, an athletic association under the guidance of Father McKenna was formed, consisting of members of the parish. At the first meeting, immediate action was taken with the election ol' the following ofhcers: Margaret Gallagher. president: 'Iohn Gayin, secretary: Bernard Fleming, recording secretary: Alice Kelaher, corresponding secretaryg Father McKenna, treasurer. .Xt this phase ol' the school year the mem- bership has reached the lillll mark. XVithin a very short time the Association made its pres- ence felt in the interest of all. Donation of SL000 toward renovating the basement and the erection of the showers and locker rooms was one ol' the first big undertakings followed in rapid sucession by other allairs to liurther the interest of sports. The association sponsored a sports dinner on March 3, following the close ol' the basket- ball season. Its goal now is the erection ol' a new gymnasium on the land owned by the Church.
